Hmmm…let’s see…
The hospital kept paging me all night. I have a whole bunch of patients in house, most of them in training for hospice. One is a sweet little old lady who fainted at home and said, “I’m fine, please don’t bring me to the hospital. I feel fine!” Needless to say, EMS came, she was brought to the ER, where a tube was placed in every orifice, and she became quite delirious. I will (hopefully) discharge her today before anyone else tries to “help” her.
It’s still the tail-end of flu season, so the office and clinic are bursting at the seams.
It’s pouring cold rain outside, the sky an oppressive grey typical of this part of the country.
And my third patient this morning said to my assistant, “Can you please tell the doctor his fly is open?”
I think it’s time for a vacation.

Hmmm… I didn’t know you lived nearby.

Raining all day here today, tornado warnings last night. I have an assisted living and while the staff was getting everyone up and into the hallway during our tornado warning last night, one lady passed out and fell face first onto the carpeted concrete hallway floor. Her face looks like someone beat her with a 2×4. I was in the ED with her until midnight. Got home, sat and listened to the storm for about 2 hours before I was sure we weren’t going to get blown away. Now my privacy fence has broken and laying almost on the ground on the north side of the yard.
Up yesterday morning at 4:00 and up again this morning at 5:00. I feel like I need a 12 hour nap, but I have appointments this afternoon for another 5 hours.
But, my fly is zipped.

As far as weather goes, I’d trade you your cold, constant pouring rain for my cold rain that turns into ice storms.

Have a nice Thursday tomorrow everyone.
Keep the fly zipped.

I stumbled onto your blog and I really enjoy it. It’s not often you can find a medical blog written by MD where the grammar isn’t atrocious.
