One of the best blogs for quack hunting, Quackometer, has been shut down by a cowardly blog host in the UK called “Netcetera. They are apparently afraid of the big, bad Quack. You see, twice, now, le canard noir, author of Quackometer, pissed of medical cultists, first the homeopaths, then some Obi guy. Rather than standing up for nice Anglo American principles such as freedom of speech and press, they pulled the plug on Quackometer—not because of what was written, but because of some psychopath’s empty threats.
I don’t know what the best course of action to support our fellow skeptic and blogger is, but perhaps offering the guy a little space on our blogs, sending nasty emails to netcetra, and anything else creative.
To use language the Netcetera folks might understand, “What a bunch of bloody wankers!”

It turns out the Netcetera folks aren’t even Brits! There in New Jersey! Time to find a new host, Ducky.

Err PalMD, due to a slight bout of hysteria on my part I got the name of the Quackometers (former) webhost wrong. It is Netcetera, not netcetra.

It’s really not that hard - Mr Duck needs to change his ISP. They already forced him to take down two posts since October 07, which certainly makes them spineless wankers. But if the Duck can’t be bothered to change his ISP after four months and two censorships, I’m sorry to say I’m finding it hard to be sympathetic.
Change your ISP already. Move on.

I don’t know, if I were in his position, I would be all about shoving myself down the throat of whoever cut me. Which for me would mean getting my site right back where it was.

aplus.net has fair pricing and a free speech policy. I’m sure there are others. Like Speakeasy. actually i’d go with speakeasy, since they’re nationwide, and since america has free speech laws, that might mean something. Although that San Francisco court ruling that wikileaks.org had to be removed from the internet might have set a nasty precedent. Never know..
